25th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Belarus and Indonesia

The 25th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Indonesia is marked in 2018 (established on June 18, 1993). 

On August 22, 2011 the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Jakarta started to operate. H.E. Mr Valery Kolesnik has been Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Indonesia since September 2017.

H.E. Mr Mohamad Wahid Supriyadi has been the Ambassador of Indonesia to Russia and Belarus (non-resident) since 2016. 

Relations in political, trade and economic, military-technical, scientific and cultural fields have been developing between the two countries.

In March 2013 Mr Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus paid a state visit to the Republic of Indonesia.

In April, 2016 on the sidelines of the Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul (Turkey) the President of the Republic of Belarus Mr Aleksandr Lukashenko met with the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Mr Jusuf Kalla.

Trade and economic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Indonesia are characterized by rapid development. Trade turnover rose from 1,8 million dollars in 1995 to 158,3 million in 2017.
