Working visit of the delegation of the Embassy to Yogyakarta


On October 7-9, 2021 a delegation of the Embassy of Belarus in Indonesia paid a working visit to Yogyakarta. During the visit, the diplomats met with the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Special Region Yogyakarta, the Head of the Office of International Affairs of Gadjah Mada University Mr. I Made Andi Asrana, as well as the Chairman of International Relations of the Association for Higher Education Institutions Mr. George Iwan Marantika.

During the meeting with the leadership of Yogyakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the delegates presented economic and investment potential of the Republic of Belarus. The parties discussed the prospects for the development of trade and economic cooperation between the Belarusian regions and Yogyakarta Special Region, expressed their focus on the implementation of joint projects. Complementarity of the economies of Belarus and Indonesia was especially emphasized, which facilitates additional intensives for the emergence of new interaction areas.

During the meeting in Gadjah Mada University with the Head of Office of International Affairs Mr. I Made Andi Asrana, the prospects for bilateral cooperation in interuniversity sphere were discussed. Belarusian diplomats also delivered a presentation of the educational potential of Belarus.

Prospects for expanding Belarus-Indonesia cooperation in the field of education were also discussed during the meeting with Mr. George Iwan Marantika, Chairman of International Relations of the Association of Higher Education Institutions. The parties noted the high standards of Belarusian higher education and expressed their focus on the development of joint educational projects.
