Ambassador of Belarus Raman Ramanouski paid a visit to the Republic of Singapore

On 12 – 13 March 2026, Ambassador of Belarus Raman Ramanouski paid a visit to the Republic of Singapore.

The Ambassador attended the annual diplomatic reception hosted by the President of Singapore. In the course the event, the Ambassador had brief exchanges with President of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Minister of Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan, and Senior Minister in the Government of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong.

The parties confirmed their mutual interest in the further development of Belarusian-Singaporean cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

During the visit, the Ambassador paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore Seah Kian Peng, with whom the issues of the Belarusian-Singaporean interparliamentary dialogue were discussed, inter alia at international interparliamentary platforms.

At the meeting with Albert Chua, Permanent Secretary of the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a complex of issues on the agenda of the Belarusian-Singaporean relations were touched upon, including prospects for enlarging trade and economic cooperation and legal framework for bilateral cooperation.

Ways to expand the supply of Belarusian agricultural products to the Singapore market were explored by Ambassador with Dr. Abdul Jalil, Director General for Food Security and Assistant Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore Food Agency.

Prospects for intensifying Belarusian-Singaporean trade and economic cooperation were reviewed with Jasmine Quah Zubair, Director of Americas, Europe and Central Asia Division at the Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry.

The Ambassador also held a number of meetings with representatives of the Singapore business community, discussed the possibilities of strengthening the partnership between the two countries in the trade sphere.
