Consular legalization and apostille

Consular legalization
Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia are not the participants of the Hague Convention abolishing the requirement of the legalization of foreign official documents of 5 October 1961. Hence, in order to be recognized in the foreign country the official document issued on the territory of these countries has to be legalized by the competent authorities of the above countries, as well as by the competent authorities of the foreign country where the document is considered to be used.

Before legalization by the Embassy of Belarus in Indonesia the document is required to be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where the document is issued and where the Embassy is accredited to (Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines). The legalization process at the Embassy of Belarus in Indonesia takes 2-3 days.

Apostille

The documents issued by the government agencies of the countries that have signed the Hague Convention abolishing the requirement of the legalization of foreign official documents of 5 October 1961 are valid on the territory of the other participant of the Convention without consular legalization provided that they havethe apostille.

Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia are not the participants of the abovementioned Convention.

The document that was issued by the competent authority of Belarus and does not have the apostille that was stamped in Belarus can be submitted to the Embassy for the further stamp of the apostille.

In this case the document is sent by the Embassy to Belarus and then back to the Embassy through the diplomatic channels. It takes approximately 2-3 months.

General requirements

The legalization of 1 document, as well as the stamp of 1 apostille cost 35 Euro. The amount should be transferred before submitting documents to the Embassy of Belarus in Indonesia to the account below.

It is required that the documents are sent to the Embassy only through the reliable international courier service companies. Ordinary mail shipments are not accepted due to safety reasons.

While arranging the documents to be sent to the Embassy an applicant has to order and prepay “both-ways” shipment (to the Embassy and back from the Embassy).

All the expenditures for the services of the courier companies are borne by the applicant.
