General information about visas

Borders of Belarus are open for the arrival of foreign citizens and citizens of the Republic of Belarus.
F
oreign citizens enter Belarus visa-free or with visa. Foreign citizens may enjoy 30 day visa-free if they enter and exit Belarus via Minsk National Airport. Other visa free regimes are temporarily unavailable due to anti-COVID measures of neighboring countries.

Visa-free travel via the checkpoint Minsk National Airport

No need to obtain visa for transit via National airport Minsk if you have a single ticket and your stay at the airport does not exceed 24 hours.
 
Visa free is applied if you enter and exit Belarus with flights that arrive at international part of the Airport. Flights from/to Russia arrive at domestic terminal. There is no border control at the domestic terminal. Foreigners without visas will be denied boarding from Russian airport if the end point of the route is Belarus.
 
Visa on arrival at International Part of Minsk National Airport
Such visa applications are processed by the Division for the Admission of Foreigners of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DAF). Visas are issued 24/7.
Visa support documents (an original invitation and its copy) should be submitted to the DAF by the inviting organization/person at least 2 business days before the expected arrival date.
 
For visa on arrival be sure that you arrive at International Part of Minsk National Airport.
It is not possible to obtain visa on arrival without any support documents submitted in advance to DAF at the National airport.
It is not possible to obtain visa on arrival if foreign citizens arrive from the Russian Federation.
 
Visa for foreigners travelling by land coach (bus, train, car)
Сitizens of Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines need to obtain Belarus transit visa (for train, bus, car) in the Embassy of Belarus in Indonesia. No visa for land coach is required for visiting some western regions of Belarus.

Embassy of Belarus in Indonesia is accredited to Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines.
 
How to pay consular fee
Regular consular fee 60 EUR – visa is issued on the 5th business day, 
Express consular fee 120 EUR per person – visa is issued on the next day (in some case may not be applied depending on the system answer), 
Minors under 14 year – free of charge.
 
Consular officer decision is final and it is made on the basis of the submitted package of documents. Consular officer is not obliged to indicate the reasons for visa denial.
 
It is advised to prepare package of documents before going to Jakarta and submit documents softcopy for inspection and approval to the email id.consul@mfa.gov.by.
This step saves your time and money. Preliminary check of the documents for visa is free of charge.

The Embassy does not assist with documents shipping.
The package of documents for a visa may be sent to the Embassy by a reliable courier company after consular officer approves softcopy of the package of documents.

Standard Package for Visa
1. Application form with photo
-no blank spaces in the application form, if question does not apply, please type “N/A”, form is filled in block letters,
- visa application form is signed personally, visa application form for minor is signed by the legal representative of the child
-size of photo 35x45 mm, full face, against an even light background, high resolution, no corrugation or ink allowed, 6 months-older photo is not accepted.
2. Passport (and a copy)
- passport contains a photograph of the owner and has at least two blank pages intended for visas,
- passport is valid at least 90 days after the expected date of arrival to Belarus.
3. Visa support document
-information in sections 18-21 of the application form
-period and type of visa is defined on the basis of visa support document. Number of entries and period of visa validity may be reduced. The consular officer may not increase what is defined in visa support document.
4. Medical insurance
-no sum excess, 
-sum insured 10 000 EUR or more.

Types, categories of entry visas and visa support documents
Transit visa (Type B)
Single, double or multiple transit through the territory of the Republic of Belarus. Valid two days for each entry.
Transit visa is issued on the basis of a visa of the third country where foreign citizen is headed.
If visa to a third country is not required other grounds are taken into account for Belarus transit visa (tickets, confirmation of hotel booking).
 
Short-term visa (Type C)
Valid up to 90 days for single, double or multiple entry for:
- business trip, participation in sports, cultural, scientific, educational events
petition-invitation on a letterhead of a legal entity with full name, location and telephone number of the legal entity, as well as obligation of the legal entity to comply with the rules of a foreign citizen stay in Belarus.
 
- tourism — one of the following documents:
1. Petition-invitation on a letterhead of Belarusian tourist company with full name, location and telephone number of the company, as well as obligation to comply with the rules of a foreign citizen stay in Belarus. Visa is valid for up to 30 days.
2. Ticket for a cultural (sports) event. Visa is valid for up to 2 days.
3. Confirmation of booking in collective or individual accommodation. Visa is valid for up to 10 days.

- private cases — one of the following documents:
1. Invitation issued by the Citizenship and Migration Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus or notification of the Citizenship and Migration Unit on the issuance of such a document;
2. Statement of a citizen of the Republic of Belarus notarized by the consular officer of the Embassy;
3. Document confirming the existence of property (apartment or house) in Belarus — for getting an entry visa for the owner and his family members;
4. Petition-invitation of the Belarusian health care organization or copy of the contract for medical services;
5. Document confirming close relationship or marital relations with a citizen of the Republic of Belarus (birth certificate, marriage certificate);
6. Document confirming the fact of birth on the territory of Belarus;
7. The original certificate of burial place of relatives in Belarus.

1. Invitation from university approved by the relevant Citizenship and Migration Unit for the period specified in the invitation;
2. Notification of the Citizenship and Migration Unit on the approval of the invitation from university.

1. Notarized copy of a special permit for work in Belarus issued by Citizenship and Migration Unit of Minsk City Executive Committee or Regional Executive Committee;
2. Notification of the Citizenship and Migration Unit on the issuance of a special work permit.
 
- for permanent residence — the decision of Citizenship and Migration Unit on the issuance of a permanent residence permit.
 
Long-term visa (Type D)
Valid for up to 5 years with the right to stay in Belarus up to 90 days (period may be different according to international treaties of the Republic of Belarus). 
If a foreign citizen received long-term entry visas for 1 year during the last 3 years, long-term entry visa for 5 years may be issued with the right to stay in Belarus up to 90 days during a calendar year.
 
- business relations, participation in sports, cultural, scientific, educational events — one of the following documents:
1. Petition-invitation for a long-term visa on a letterhead of the legal entity.
2. Documents of the legal entity in Belarus confirming that the foreign citizen is a founder of the commercial organization in the Republic of Belarus;
3. Petition-invitation for a long-term visa issued by a representative office of a foreign organization in Belarus for visa to the head or employees of this representative office.
 
- private cases — one of the following documents:
1. Invitation issued by the Citizenship and Migration Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus or notification of the Citizenship and Migration Unit on the issuance of such a document;
2. Statement of a citizen of the Republic of Belarus notarized by the consular officer of the Embassy;
3. Petition-invitation of the Belarusian health care organization and copy of contract for medical services;
